Olkusz is a town of 700 years history. It is situated half way between two metropolies - Cracow and Silesian agglomeration. Formerly, they were the mint and silver mines which brought fame to Olkusz. At present, this town is one of the most important mining centers and lead and zinc ores in Poland. Olkusz offers many interesting monuments worth visiting.
